After making her singing debut in Bollywood with the Salman Khan starrer Race 3, Iulia Vantur was expected to make her acting debut with Radha Kyun Gori Main Kyun Kaala. However, the film hit roadblock for more reasons than one. After being mired in the Me Too controversy, reports had it that the film also faced issues for being associated with producer Prernaa Arora. Furthermore, there were reports of a change in cast too. However, it seems that all of these have been put behind, as the makers have decided to go ahead with it in August.

Iulia Vantur’s debut Radha Kyun Gori Main Kyun Kaala to go on floors in August!

Director of the film, Prem Soni has confirmed that Radha Kyun Gori Main Kyun Kaala will go on floors in the first week of August. There has been lot of reports doing the rounds that the film may have been shelved but Prem rubbished them and called them false and untrue.

He has also clarified on the reports about Prernaa Arora and Studio 5 elements causing trouble as they are producers of the film. He said, “The film completely lies with my company Premraj Pictures and also the rights. I will be producing and directing the film under my banner. Just to clarify it’s Prernaa Arora, Arjun N Kapoor, Kashish Khan & Om Prakash Bhatt who were part of Studio 5 elements & they have nothing to do with our film and not associated in any way with Radha Kyun Gori Main Kyun Kaala.”

On the other hand, he also rubbished reports that claimed that Sonakshi Sinha had replaced Iulia Vantur in the film. Earlier this year, there was buzz that the Kalank actress was roped in for the lead role, followed by which, there were reports that she had rejected the film because she didn’t like the script. However, shunning these reports, Soni added, “Iulia Vantur plays the protagonist and there is no change in that at all.”

BREAKING: Post Raghava Lawrence’s exit Farhad Samji to complete Akshay Kumar starrer Laxmmi Bomb as director

Just last week Raghava Lawrence had announced that he had stepped down as the director of the Akshay Kumar starrer Laxmmi Bomb. Explaining his decision Lawrence stated that he arrived at the same after the first look poster of Laxmmi Bomb was release without his consent. Now just days later, we hear that the makers of the film have already locked a new director for the film with Farhad Samji stepping into Lawrence’s shoes.

BREAKING Post Raghava Lawrence’s exit Farhad Samji to complete Akshay Kumar starrer Laxmmi Bomb as director

Talking about the same a source close to the film adds, “Raghava Lawrence exited the film just when a major shoot schedule had been planned for September, and this would cause some serious financial strain. Hence it was imminent that they rope in a new director for the venture. Now as far as Farhad Samji filling in Lawrence’s shoes, you have to see that Akshay and Farhad have worked together before in the capacity of actor and director. Besides this, Farhad has also written the film which is and adaptation of the Tamil film Kanchana. So it was an obvious choice that he would be roped in to direct the film as well.”

Though, an official announcement of Farhad Samji replacing Raghava Lawrence as the director is still to be made, our source states that the same will be made in some time. “Right now there are too many things happening, but an announcement will come. Media is still speculating whether the makers will negotiate and try to convince Lawrence to return to the project, and for now the makers are happy to keep it at that.”

As for the film, Laxmmi Bomb that stars Akshay Kumar, Kiara Advani and R. Madhavan is slated to release on June 5, 2020 and it is produced by Fox Star Studios.

Akshay Kumar starrer Laxmmi Bomb director Raghava Lawrence loses his lifeline after yet again public announcement

This could well be it for Raghava Lawrence!

Till about a week ago, the filmmaker still had sympathy from many fans and well-wishers. Though the point of view amongst many was still polarized, still many gave him a benefit of doubt when he decided to walk away from Akshay Kumar starrer Laxmmi Bomb. The filmmaker was upset that his consent wasn’t taken when the first look of his debut Bollywood film was released by Akshay Kumar and the production team. On the other hand many thought a lot was being made about the (non) issue since this was just a glimpse to announce the film.

Akshay Kumar starrer Laxmmi Bomb director Raghava Lawrence loses his lifeline after yet again public announcement

While Lawrence made his displeasure clear, what he did on late Saturday night only ended up isolating him from whatever goodwill that he was carrying amidst the Laxmmi Bomb team. Without any provocation whatsoever, he again ended up mentioning on social media that he was willing to reconsider his return to the film. So far, so good. However, he made one (major) error of judgment. Not just he made it sound like the makers of Laxmmi Bomb were after him to come back to the film; he even dragged his leading man’s name into it all over again.

Apparently, he had a ‘change of heart’ since ‘fans’ of him and Akshay Kumar wanted him to back in the film. This isn’t where he ended; he also put forth another condition, which is that he would step in only if ‘given self-respect for his job’.

Anything wrong with that in principle? Not really; after all any artist worth his salt would definitely seek self-respect and proper motivation to work. However, there is one unwritten rule in the industry, be it Bollywood, Tollywood or Hollywood – ‘You don’t wash your dirty linen in public’!

There can be issues, misunderstandings, displeasures, arguments, fights and break-ups; however, all of that is expected to take place within the walls of a closed room. You don’t make things public, you don’t try to play the game of one upmanship, you don’t make it sound like ‘us v/s them’.

You do it quietly, within a confined space, in a private conversation and then – if it is really essential – make the end outcome public.

Here, Lawrence has clearly jumped the gun. When he chose to quit the film, he decided to make things public and later when he is thinking of reconciliation, he is again doing it publically.

Had this reconciliation taken place and only the decision had to be announced then it could well have been considered as a noble act. However, considering it is merely a thought which is being shared with the (not so) fine print of ‘conditions apply’, it appears to be a decision made in haste.

Clearly, the filmmaker has lost his lifeline here. Now it has to be seen whether there would be a call of ‘lock kiya jaaye’ from Akshay Kumar and team.
